I was dealing 3 Card Poker when a kid who looked no more than 16 comes up to the table wanting to play. I ask for his I.D. and he just turned 21 the day before. He sits down and acts like he knows how to play the game. Well he starts folding hand after hand after hand.Folding happens in 3 Card Poker but never that much folding. So the next hand he folded I asked him if I could look at it. “Yea, sure, it’s crap. No pair.” I flip over the cards and it’s straight flush, the highest hand you can get. I am so startled. “Why are you throwing away a straight flush?” I asked. He looks unsure, “Well it’s not a pair. I need a pair to win on Pairs Plus.” Luckily I hadn’t taken the money yet, so I gave him back his cards and made him play it. He won $400 and left immediately after that hand. He was bright red when he left.

This is one of the many stories I have on my website.

I think with all forms of gambling then you really do have to know what you're doing before you sit down at the table and start playing for real money. Obviously we all have to start somewhere but only a fool would walk into a casino and start playing when they have no idea about what the rules are.

I've played poker in the past with people that clearly don't know what they are doing and depending what mood I'm in and how much I have won already, makes a difference on how I treat them. If I have had a good night then I will go easy on them and try and help them sometimes but if I have had a bad night and need to in some money back, the devil in me will take over and I'll take them for every penny they wish to bet. I justify it by saying that if they don't know how to play then they shouldn't be sat there in the first place.

I do feel a bit bad later on, but if you're going to have any success in gambling, you can't be too soft and sometimes taking advantage of people is the only way to make sure it's them and not you that are going home with an empty wallet.

That's a great story really, so basically he had no idea what he was doing and you were a good chap, most likely your boss didn't like that right? :)

Well, anyway, a win is a win. My guess is that the kid in question will know a bit more what he is doing the next time he goes to a casino. I think he will chalk this one up to experience, and be a bit more clued in the next time he sits down to play. Everybody has to start somewhere.

That's an interesting story. By the way I am interested on your website. Your website is described as world's first free dealing trade school. What kind of trade dealings does your website teach.I will check your website.

Surely that we need to know the game we are playing or else what are we doing? Your site looks good indeed, great job with it. ;)

Well as the saying goes, if you can't swim, then you keep your ass out of the pool in the first place, so going to a casino and playing a game you don't know the rules to, is only going to end one way I would have thought and that's with you walking out with an empty wallet and your tail between your legs.

It's not often that you will get other players feeling sorry for you. Maybe when your playing for a few cents here and there, but in a casino environment where there can be serious money to be won and lost, most players I know are pretty ruthless.

How cute, He thought He will play "adult" like knowing everything that this life could teach after turning 21 yo. Haha sure is embarrasing, He got blushed after playing a flush . Hey that rhymes!

As far as I see it it's not just about being an adult or not. Some teenagers play a lot online and know all the rules, so it's all about knowing you game.

Well that is nice, and way to give the young man a break. It does make me wonder what the rules regarding that are supposed to be though. I am willing to guess that you are not supposed to do that, either look at his cards or let him still play the hand. I could be wrong though, but either way I guess it ended up working out. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, not that I have forgotten, but the fact is that we need to know the game or else not even luck will help us!
